So glad you stopped by again TRACY. There are times when pleasing others blesses them and encourages them and then there are other times when it is important to act even when we know it will not please them. Your example is a perfect one. One I have had to deal with raising 2 girls. It is not always easy. Frankly it is hard. You so want them to be happy and pleased, but in love we must as parents do what is vital for their growth and character.

Thanks for this post. I need to always remind myself that it's who I am in Christ that matters.

Even more than what others think of me, I have to watch to not fall into the trap of wanting to please others. It's a funny issue to have since I have 2 teen sons. The other day when they were so upset with me because I had to clarify some boundaries, I finally just told them that I'm glad the only one I have to please is the Lord!

Great post. Reminds me of King David. He was not the obvious candidate for king, but God looked at his heart and saw a man who loved Him. All throughout Scripture, he has chosen the foolish and the weak to confound the 'wise and strong'

Amazing, Brad. I always ask myself before I go teach or lead worship: "Are they going to meet me or are they going to meet Christ in me?".

Both inferiority and superiority complexes can be dealt with when we find our position in Him.
